Christos Dovas : Biography - wedding dresses designer New York
Christos Dovas was born and raised in Patras on the mainland of Hellas. His deeply traditional experience, classical education, and focus on exploring the intimate relationship between the classical and the modern world are the hallmark of his stunning creations.
At an early age Christos Dovas was apprentice to his father Eleftherios Dovas, a
custom shoe designer in Patras. From his father, Christos Dovas acquired the
foundation for his passion to create innovative and classical designs crafted
with a master's attention to impeccable construction and precise design.
As a teenager, he wanted to create for himself. He became more involved in
fabrics and by this time he was working in sales and as a stylist for his
family's business. Soon after, he began designing for his own boutique.
Seeking the poetry of the world stage, Christos Dovas was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts in fashion design from a prestigious Institute in New York City. His specialization in evening wear coupled with his study of Theatrical Costume Design earned him an internship in the Costume Department of New York's Metropolitan Opera.
Shortly after graduation, Christos Dovas launched his company in N.Y.C. There he continued to conceive and create innovative designs with perfect execution. Often compared to sculptures and paintings, "Christos Dovas" designs naturally enhance a woman's inner beauty. He combines elements of the modern and classical worlds viewed from different angles to reveal new aspects of her beauty. To feel amazing a woman must appear unique and at ease with herself. Christos Dovas takes great care to make this happen, never forgetting the importance of comfort and practicality.
